These terms govern use of The Thing at thething.cc and identify the operator as Chad Boyda, a sole proprietor in Austin, Texas, United States. For service questions and content complaints, contact support@meinfull.com and identify The Thing. Please read these terms before signing in or contributing. They do not limit rights the law does not allow you to waive.
Use an email account you control and keep access credentials secure. Do not impersonate someone or misrepresent an affiliation. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Notify the operator if you believe an account or service vulnerability has been misused.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant the operator a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, format, reproduce and display that content as needed to operate, moderate and provide The Thing, including processing by service providers. This license is limited to those purposes. You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content. Public contributions may be seen, copied or shared by others.
Do not post unlawful content, threats, targeted harassment, private information without permission, nonconsensual intimate imagery, sexual exploitation of children, fraud or infringing material. Do not send spam or deceptive promotions, evade moderation or rate limits, misuse other accounts, compromise security, or place unreasonable load on the service. Respect other participants and their rights.
Submitting does not guarantee publication. The Thing uses automated assessments and queue selection; replies have a separate relevance policy. Assessments can make mistakes, and a score is not a finding about your worth, intent or authorship. The operator may restrict, remove or decline content, apply temporary limits, or suspend access to address violations, legal obligations, safety or service integrity. Contact the operator about a moderation decision or rights complaint. No part of the service grants an entitlement to distribution or uninterrupted access.
For a copyright complaint, identify the work, the specific content or URL, your contact details, your authority to complain and the basis of the claim. Reports of unlawful or nonconsensual intimate imagery should identify the content and the affected person or authorized representative. Do not send additional sensitive material unnecessarily. The operator will evaluate reports and act as required by applicable law.
Content comes from participants and may be inaccurate, offensive or incomplete. Automated assessment does not verify facts or endorse a contribution. External websites, previews and embedded content are controlled by others. Use your judgment before relying on them. The service is not professional legal, medical or financial advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available and without warranties of accuracy, uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose or noninfringement. To that same extent, the operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or opportunities, arising from use of the service. These provisions do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable mandatory consumer protections.
You may stop using the service at any time. Account and content requests follow the Privacy policy. Obligations and permissions that need to survive to address public copies, security, disputes or legal duties continue to the extent necessary. The operator may change or discontinue features and update these terms; material changes will be identified and receive notice or renewed agreement where required. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent allowed by law.
